With the cold weather still hanging around and with no immediate signs of change, we must not forget our little feathered friends! They will be finding it difficult to find food and water (that's not frozen).

For tips on feeding the birds, click on the RSPB link below.

The photograph of the robin, above, was taken by our photographer Katie Brill.

Brace yourselves! Wintry weather is ahead. Get your gloves, hat and scarves at the ready we're in for a very cold snap.

Whilst wrapping yourselves up, don't forget your tender plants! Use horticultural fleece to wrap them up. This will allow plants to breath whilst protecting them from the frost and cold, dessicating winds.

Other useful fabrics such as old blankets or hessian sacks will also do just as well.
